OK, just checking as I've seen discussion on this before.
About to rebuild my M38 engine, I last did this years ago on another jeep.
My manual TM 9 1804A states, "Make sure the oil squirt hole in the connecting rod is opposite the T slot in the piston"
Is this correct? I'm sure I've read of a misprint in one of the manuals.

Yes Paragraph 52 in your TM 9-1804A is correct. If you look closely at the illustration Figure 75 page 91 it will confirm this. If you review the Willys/Kaiser civvy manual for the CJ L-134 you will see and read the same info.
