Battery Box Guts

Post by hillbilly21 »

UNDER HOOD...Could someone take a picture of a battery installed in theres and post it..I guess I need to know what to order as I dont have anything but the box...
Also how is it attached to the battery tray as I cant find any info on it in the manual..

I am in the process of restoreing a 52 M-38 with fording kit and I only want to do it once .... Thanks

Hey,

There should be a square raised plate that goes into the bottom. The box is attached with the bolts that hold down the battery. The bolts are very long with a hook on the end that go through the battery box and into the frame battery box tray.

I'll look for a good photo.

Quality reproduction components are readily available through Midwest Military.

Those low holes were usually for the arctic power plant heater kit. Both battery boxes had hot water type heat blankets put in them with that kit.
