brake return spring?

okay so i was out playing in the snow with the mc and all of a sudden the brake pedal doesn't come back up-spring is gone! i forget how it goes in. does it ride the passanger side of the pedal all the way back? any pics really would help (no heated garage-no garage period!) i just want to get one back on there and get out- it's too cold to lay under the thing trying to figure it out. same as mb spring? thanks...........frank
