Rick,
I'll take a look at the shop also. Need photos of them installed both from outside the cowl and then inside the cowl. Then as removed as an assembly and finally as individual pieces.

The plates are flat where they lay against the cowl.
Nice Rick-O!
I have inside the cowl photos. For some reason I can't upload from my
phone. I'll get them on the desktop.
Nothing really to see inside except the bolt heads going through the brackets to the outside.
Take care,

Thanks RickG for those dimensions! Thanks Wes for the inside-the-cowl view --- I'm glad to discover that both my welded brackets are in good shape.
I guess I'm still looking for a pair of take-off or NOS serrated plates 673554. It'd take me all day and a half or more to make them.......

When I bought my jeep the windshield was gone.
as were the hinges.
Those plates were still in place but I guess Bubba
kept snagging his overalls on them when he was
welding that roll bar to the cowl so he just cut them
off flush with the plate.
Amazingly, with a little PB Blaster the screws came
right out.
I bet some people think they are tied solid to the cowl.
I had about five layers of paint on mine and the cowl.
I didn't know they were serrated until all that crap came off.
Take care,

Sorry it has taken so long.

And this is just a small sample of what I've been dealing with. Sorry about the photo. The black, gray and white camo doesn't help. If you look just aft of the rear corner of the hood you can see my plate still in place on the right side of the cowl.

Both my CJ-3A tubs had the screws in bass-ackwards..
thru the bracket, threaded thru the plate, thru the sheet metal and the nut
on the cowl inside. Must have made for interesting windshield frame adj..

Yep, Most of the time Bubba describes a troop with only one paddle in the water!
