Here's Brian's photos comparing the new tires he just received to one of his old tires. He didn't specify which old tire is in these photos.

Here's the list of the old tires on his M38A1:
1) Goodyear Date 7-63, A982L034
2) goodyear MDWWWAO408, Date?
3) BF Goodrich 1952 Silvertown 9574YRL3
4) Firestone Date 3-67, 020DR277
It would be nice to hear from Keith B on this issue since he is close to the tire manufacturing industry.

Looks like either works fro motor pool class and probably "V"'s for Factory class restos.

[He didn't specify which old tire is in these photos. ] Hey Wes - it was one of the goodyears sitting on the top, but all 4 old tires had V recess.

From Looking at the period photos, I guess it is safe to conclude that both are correct. Personally, I like the V shape as that is what you see in manual and factory photos. Hopefully when good year brings there new NDCC tires out, they will use the V shape.
