Thanks guys. I get it now. The distributor is installed correctly. Still have some items to complete before I can attempt to fire it up.

Any suggestions on batteries.? Also I was going to make my own cables. Can either of you provide any tips ?

You need two 2HN batteries to be correct on the installation. The alternate would be the closest fitting civilian battery group 22NF.

Welding wire is the best out there on the market.

Thanks Wes. When you say " welding wire" is that a brand name or type? I am in Minnesota can you recommend where I can get it?

I appreciate all the help. Your distributor explanation was perfect. I did not look close enough to realize it was offset.

Welding wire from a welding equipment supplier. It is a little bit more expensive then regular battery cable but it is a whole lot better conductor.

51N R fits and is on the shelf at Wally World for about 75 bucks
