here in alberta you can write up a bill of sale on a napkin. as long as it has make,model,serialnumber and signatures of buyer and seller;you're good to go

You could widdle down whats left till you have just one bolt and tags in your hand and still own the title. A title is just another part, if you will, of the 'vehicle'. It represents that there is a vehicle out there belonging to someone proving that ownership. You can sell a title and tags outright by itself, it's not unheard of.

My M-38 came with a AZ title APPLICATION in my brother's name. He had signed it but never completed the cycle to get the legal title. I went thru the process here in ID, death cert and countless other documents but all in all it was pretty smooth and finally got the legal ID title in my name. That was 3 years ago-All i want to emphasize in this reply is that i made sure i had the valid title in my name BEFORE i spent a dime on resto-
(not including the cost of transport from AZ to ID.)
