I'm pretty sure I'm in the same boat. Finding quality workmanship nearby is a challenge in my neck of the woods.

How was the quality of work done by Hillside Machine? Photo? Was the cost reasonable? Turn-around time?

Can anybody recommend other shops doing quality work? If there's a page on the forum for machine shops I missed it and would appreciate a point to it.

The machinist is actually a vendor who delivers your machined part to you.

Don't get jeep exhaust manifold machining get in your head.

Any competent engine rebuild facility would be able to do this
work. Nothing different here than decking a block or refinishing
intake manifolds or cylinder heads. Regular machine shops with adequate
sized tools can do it also.

Talk to the hot rod shops as well. If they don't do this work
they are having it done somewhere local.

Stick the assembly in your vehicle and take it with you and
show them what you want done.

Back in 2005 I had a similar problem, only mine was vacuum leak.

I took both manifolds and a new gasket that goes between them and the local machine shop bolted them together and then machined them to a flat surface.

I took them home as an assembly and used a new gasket and bingo my problem was solved...

Jeep has been running great ever since...

It took about a week due to his work load and cost me $100 ; but best money I ever spent...
