Thanks again Wesk, I almost missed page two. There is a salvage yard just outside Fort Leonard Wood that has a few trucks. I'll have to check with them. That's where I found a trailer receptacle for my m-38. Besides that they are good people to do business with.

You can't go wrong at $34 to $36 brand new as compared to the salvage yard prices. Keep in mind most stuff produced after 1968 had the i pin plugs.

Brett and I ended up w/same receptical for under 30 bucks shipped.
Building the cables to our specific needs was a fun afternoon project..

Just a thank you to Wesk, Bretto and Rickg for all the help and advice on the power receptacle. I purchased one from Mike at mikes garage sales in Indiana. Very good and fast service. I just finished the bracket now I'm trying to get the nerve to install the cables. Thanks again wesk for pointing me to the TM9-1825e chapter 5.

Luis,
Yes according to Bretto's and Rick's drawing you are looking
at 3" and 5".
Be aware they are for the M38 as that is what vehicle they both
have. Look over the part numbers to check and see if they are
ok for the M38A1.
