Bill is correct. The top plate is the body/chassis plate and the serial there is 8964. As I said above the lower plate is for the engine and addresses the engine's military overhaul. That engine OH tag is usually attached to the engine's block with drive screws.

Hahaha why is it that I have no idea where you found 8964?
Is it on one of the two plates in the area a car would have a glove box?
Sorry for my ignorance on this, I am not knowledgable on cars and have to dumb it down for me a bit.

You posted a photo of the plates several times.

The two at the far right of this photo. The top one is the serial plate for body/chassis. The bottom plate is the overhaul plate that belongs on the engine block and the serial number on it is for the engine.

This is the closeup photo you posted.

Make sure you get a reliable appraiser. Also one very well versed in the Ford GP. The parts you have can vary greatly in value based on their current availability on the market.

Thank you. I am going to email the gentleman you sent me info on.
I just want to make sure I get as many opinions as possible and learn as much as possible on it so that we don't get taken advantage of since my father can not tell us any information on it.
