Dan,
Lesson learned. Glad you'll be ok.
Have another safety story I may relate on another post.
Great sheetmetal work you are doing. Wish you were closer...
Take care,

No progress on the fender, work is getting in the way.
I did, however, receive confirmation that my newly rebuilt fuel pump is on the way. There was an electric pump on the jeep and the original fuel pump was long gone.
I had some issues with my previous CJ2A carb and came across a guy named ScoutPilot on theCJ2Apage who i ended up having rebuild my carb. I couldn't have been more satisfied at the time and sent him a note hoping he could help me out with a fuel pump for this M38a1.
He didn't have any in stock but advised that, given some time, he could probably come up with one. He put out some feelers and was able to source an AC 4069 from a member at the TheCJ2Apage forum.
This is what he was sent:

Gross right? It's amazing what time and neglect looks like.
Anyway, he was able to clean it up and rebuild it. The pump was missing the priming lever and one of the mounting holes needed to be sleeved. He couldn't source the priming lever, so he made his own and then installed a busing in the mounting hole.
Finished product:

He bench tested and reported the fuel pump showed 5psi and the Vacuum test showed 4”Hg.
I'm .... PUMPED
.... to get my hands on it.
Could not be more satisfied with the service from ScoutPilot. The guy knows his stuff and went above and beyond my expectations.
