My M170 has this smooth floor in it

riveted in and everything

Is it right? Everything I have seen has had a ribbed floor.

No, a plan floor isn´t right for a M170.
The "ribbed" floor´s you have seen are right.
The M170 rear floor looks semilar to the M38A1 floor but use otherwise the M38A1, two of that hat channels underneath.

Sincerely

And it would have been spot welded factory.

Would the motor pool have replaced a rotted floor
with plain sheet and riveted it in? Probably not.
Sure they had access to replacement pieces.

Whoever did it did a nice job for what it's worth.
Note the OEM floor area is in better shape than the
replacement so a decent job putting it in, but preparation
and painting was not up to the factory work.

Thanks guys you have confirmed what I was thinking. A new ribbed floor is on the to do list. This one was put in so well I just wanted to make sure before cutting it out. :D

So now the next dilemma Kaiser Willys has a replacment rear floor for a m38a1 and of course nothing for the m170.

I have been told the front floor pan section is the same in both the m38a1 and the m170. But the rear section from the m38a1 is to short to fit the m170.
Is that true? If it is how do you suppose one would go about making it longer?
Don't really want to buy 2 and cut them up, but that may be the only way.

Well you can answer one of those questions with a tape measure.

Why not just buy the correct complete rear floor?
