Down in the weeds doing some researching, maybe not enough, but can't find a photo or description even in the M38 Reference Guide, so I thought I'd ask about Page 277 in my ORD9 that says there's a wood filler block and two 5/8-inch nails somewhere on the spare tire carrier. Not shown or listed on Figure 15-3 on page 272 or anywhere else that I can find. Must be the only two nails on the entire jeep.
WO-663399 for the wood filler, ORD 104858 for the 2 nails.
Appreciate any pointers!

That's the civvy style side mounted spare tire carrier support bracket system inside the right rear wheel house. There's a curved hat channel filled with wood there. Se photo below from my album on the M38 BODY.
You can see two 5/16 bolts and nuts showing coming through the hat channel and you can see the wood showing at the forward end. If you look closely you can see one of the small nail holes in the hat channel just behind the forward 5/16 bolt & nut.

Here you can see all four bolt holes for mounting the right side spare tire carrier. The top and bottom aren't reinforced with a hat channel but the two horizontal bolts go through that hat channel with the wood insert.
The two nails keep the wood in place when all four tire carrier bolts are removed.
