So I ordered 2 of these http://www.kaiserwillys.com/product/215 ... ccessories And today when I went to put them in they look nothing like the ones coming out. Does this happen often? The old part and new part not looking anything alike? They seem to fit the yoke and in the housing.
The next question is which side is supposed to be facing out on the new ones?
My guess is you are looking at the outside/yoke side in the first photo.
Thanks for any help :D

That image is to small to tell so here is a link to the bigger one. http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules. ... _photo.php

If you click on the thumbnail in your album the middle size photo will appear. It is that photo URL that you want to use between Image these.

The link to the larger image is the URL for the whole page the image is on. You do not use that URL. You right click on the middle sze image and then left click on "copyimage address" then paste that URL in between the Image.

Note: if you are using the Microsoft browser Internet Explorer it is a bit more difficult. You right click on the middle sze image and then left click on "properties" then copy the URL that pops up.

The large pic in that link is the inside facing side. The outside face is the one with the flat faces with the step in it.
it is very common that new parts look completely different as these new seals are double lipped and made with a more modern design.

The simple rule to follow is that lip type shaft seals are installed with the tip of the lip angled towards the oil it is suppose to retain.
