Fuel Tank Woes

Well here's a story....

About 4 years ago we had a new fuel tank made from our old tank and a thing of beauty it was. I didn't want to get a tank from MD Juan due to all the bad press reference fit issues.

Mrs Jackson with her links in the motorsport business took the tank to a company which deals with vintage restorations, radiators, tanks and the like and they said they could make a new tank using the old (which leaked like a sieve and was full of holes as a template).

This was duly done the tank came back was sprayed and put into storage for a few years whilst the rest of the project moved on. Well the day came and the tank was lowered into the floor well and jiggled around but it sits way to high. whether this is due to the steps being wrong or just the height of the sides I don't know.

Does anyone have all the original dimensions of an M38A1 fuel tank they could send me, so we can get the tank altered to fit correctly as we have no reference now the old tank no longer exists.

Lesson to be learned here don't take things foregranted that it is right without checking.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Regards

Nic
