M38A1 mushroom style pre cleaner

I've been looking for an air filter pre cleaner cap for a m38a1, I read that a M38 cap will not fit a M38A1 is that true or are they universal. I noticed some are slotted and some are not.

Jason,
The M38 uses part #7375118, WO-801807,
with clamp 502922, 2-9/32" id.
The M38A1 uses part # 8329647, WO-806407,
with clamp 502925 which superseded 8329641,
both 3" id.
So it looks like the A1 is larger in diameter.
All from the Ord 9 part manuals online.

Wow don't I feel naive.
Thank you vary much Brian! I'm embarrassed to say I really never thought about looking at and comparing part numbers already owning a hard copy of the M38A1 Ord 9. Normally I think ahead but guess I fell a little short on that today.
