M38 radiator color

Judging by the members photos, I assume the radiator is suppose to be black. Is it semi-gloss or flat? High temp? Thanks

I would use Semi or gloss. Flat will only help buildup of crud.

There are a couple of references to a special paint that
helps in heat transfer. Maybe someone can provide more
info on it.

Btw, you don't need high temp paint. Any decent paint
you will use will certainly handle normal operating temps.

Any temperature appreciably higher will cause bigger problems
than paint damage, i.e., engine damage and soldering issues
with the radiator itself.

Hello fellows, I've been using PU (Poly-Urethane) based paint on my vehicles, for both painting the body and surfaces subjected to heat, like the engine. Besides good heat resistance, it has very good adhesion to surface and hardness.

Actually there is a correct radiator black that's used.
It's a thinner paint as not to hinder heat transfer.
