Cleaning PCV valve

Mineral spirits works great once you get it
apart. What do we need to put on the
parts when we reassemble?

Just light motor oil?

yes but even if you put nothing on it the first time you operate for 15 or 20 minutes the oil laden crankcase air will thoroughly lube it.

That's what I thought.
What about a light wipe on the threads when you assemble
the two halves? Mine was dry and I didn't think I'd get it
apart.

usually if you don't want threads to seize you apply anti-seize!

I thought of that but it is a pretty tight
machined finish where the two halves join.
Anti seize on the pipe threads for sure.

That's what anti-seize is for. It prevents seizing yet allows threads to remain torqued. Oil does not insure threads stay torqued. Use the right material for the job.
