Tie rod disassemble question
All my boots on my m38a1 tie rod are dissentigrated. Some don't even have springs left. This is mainly because it was just sitting for 15+ years. Now i have the whole assembly off the jeep, and the ends off. My issue is trying to separate both of the rods from each other. The tie rod end that connects the two in the middle is not wanting to come out. I have tried taping with hammer, even using a tie rod puller, and nothing. I don't want to damage, as the end is still good. Any trick or suggestions ? And yes i have removed the crown nut.

As I don't have English as my native language, it is a second language in Sweden, can you please explain were the tie rod is situated, just for me to learn more about the jeep and the language.

Tie rods are part of the steering system. They transmit the steering forces to the wheels. Here is a link to a full explanation.Brinken wrote:As I don't have English as my native language, it is a second language in Sweden, can you please explain were the tie rod is situated, just for me to learn more about the jeep and the language.
