I am getting things cleaned up so i can assemble my motor. I noticed on the oil pickup there was a small hole in the top of it. the hole was not drilled it looks like it was made by a small punch. should that be there or should it be filed?

Sorry wrong term. the small hole is located on top of the oil strainer assembly located in the oil pan
