Regulator Letters to Wire Numbers

Searched around and could not find this topic. Can anyone confirm for me the following regulator plug/receptacle scheme on a late M38A1 (and what TM you found it in):
Regulator four pin receptacle to wiring harness number:
A to wire 4
B to wire 8
D to wire 9
C to wire 10
Second, did anyone ever create a nice colorized wiring diagram for the late M38A1 like Rod Nowland did for the M38?
Thank you,
Al Jones

I am not aware of any M38A1 technical data that shows the pin vs wire # arrangements. Also the cable between the generator & regulator has no wire numbering.
No on the pretty colored wiring diagram.
I don't care for them because they tend to steer you away from actually learning the wiring number system used on military vehicles. You will eventually start referring to colors instead of wire numbers when you use the colored diagrams to communicate problems and depending on the other guy's visual acuity or colors used in his copy you can easily confuse the attempt at troubleshooting. This confusion is eliminated with wire numbers.
Try reviewing my photo album when seeking an answer to any technical question. I have hundreds of technical oriented illustrations and photos in there. It is the second album on the first page of Member's Albums:

Thanks Wes. That information helps.
I certainly agree with your comment about the numbering. The problem is my eyesight is going and one pair of glasses isn't enough anymore. So for folks like me, especially when I'm under the vehicle or my arms are down in the regulator and I can't switch to reading glasses, reading a blurry color is easier than a blurry number. Especially when it's a blurry copy of the TM!
I did look for your photo album. My mistake I missed it - must have been in a hurry (or didn't have my reading glasses on

).
Thanks again for the information - it'll get me back on the road.
