f134 rear main seal side packing

Post by Saberr »

Rebuilding my f134 engine. Got a full gasket set from crown. The rear main seal fits fine, as well as rest of gaskets. The side packing for the rear main seal though is too big. From my research these should just slide in or just need some lube and twisting. Does anyone know where i could just get the side packing ?, or have any tips ? Was thinking of using an rtv sealant to fill the side holes. or wire wheel the big ones down with a light coat of rtv on side of it ?

I just looked in the garage for the part number of the Felpro rope seal kit but the box is gone. The kit comes with the rubber dowels and fit nicely. Napa sells the kit.
I believe it is BS-3165
1952 M38 project
