Personnel Heater Wiper relocation

Post by dayboy42 »

Has anyone here relocated their wipers to the top of the windshield as instructed in the directions for the Personnel Heater install instructions?

I have the instructions and my main reason for asking is perhaps someone has some further tips from experience.

The instructions say I will need to put two holes in the canvas which isn't the end of the world... I figure I can put grommets in.

Everyone ready for Turkey Day? :D

Matt, I would not use the military defroster duct and leave the wipers at the bottom of the windshield. Several members have posted their solutions by using custom fabricated defroster ducts that did not interfere with wipers. Do a bit of a search for defroster ducts.

This one would be handier with the abilty to attach the hose to either end.

You would simply convert the square top of the stock hot water heater junction box to a 2" to 3" round hose.

If you decide to move the wipers to the top besure to install gmetal canvas cloth grommets to the holes you make.
