I have one bolt in the block ( actually the #1 in the torque order ) which seems to move slightly on one axis ( north/south but not east/west.) It was able to hold the torque when I tried my first head gasket replacement but since I am pulling the head again to helicoil the spark plugs ( using solid inserts,) I thought I would ask my superiors here if you think I should drill, tap, and helicoil that part of the block. I am not generally a fan of any looseness in mechanical pieces and I know this one doesn't move particularly.

If I do, does anyone know the diameter of the actual stud so I can get the right kit?

I appreciate your patience and advice.

Page 27 of the ORD 9 SNL G-740 has your answer, middle of the page 3 "STUD" entries listing both the course thread size for the block and fine thread size for the nut.

I would expect that as far into your jeep as you are you already have a copy of the ORD 9 but if by some freak circumstance you do not this is a good time to get one. You can download a copy free here on this web site on the downloads page: http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules. ... =Downloads

in this specific folder: http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules. ... oad&cid=60
