Body anti squeak locations

Hello, I'll be mounting my body tomorrow. Where on the M38 body was the anti squeak webbing used. Every diagram I can find and the one that came with the kit is for an MB. In addition to the body cowl to fender location, does it also go between the fender and the step?

Does it go between the fender and grill? Any other locations? I can't find anything in ORD 9 except under section 1701-fenders.

Thanks,

Marty

In your M38 ORD 9 SNL G-740 dated 1955 look on page 341 which is the "A" page for the alphabetical index. They are the only places. Personally I would not use any of it. It absorbs moisture and stays wet long enough to start rust issues. There are many modern substitutes that do the job just fine. Go with rubbers, neoprene or teflon tapes and strips.

As I always say here: My album has hundreds of technical photos for the M38 & the M38A1. Visit it and use it. It is easy to find. It is the 2nd album on our "Members's Albums" page. http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules. ... _album.php

The long piece listed in the ord 9 goes vertical and the short piece goes horizontal.

The key to proper, painless and accurate tub mounting is patience.

Do not tighten anything until you have test fitted all body parts (Tub, Fenders, Grill, Hood). It helps to have the engine mounted in the frame so you can insure proper alignment of the starter kick pedal with the starter. It takes a wee bit of tub mount tinkering to make them align.

Use my M38 "Body" album and the sub-album within "M38 Tub Mounting"!

Thanks Wes! I'll review all of those resources before I start.
