Question on body mount 3L with repro body

Hello, mounting my tub to frame today. Everything going well so far. I noticed on Wes's photo album that on body mount 3L the bolt goes in from the underside of the jeep not down through the top like the others. I'm assuming thats because of the location of the fuel tank. I'm also guessing that on the original bodies there was a captured nut inside the hat channel.

I'm using an MD Juan reproduction tub. So my question is, does anyone know if the reproduction tubs have this inside the hot channel? If not how should I proceed?

If I have al this wrong please let me know. Thanks

Marty

Marty,

What model jeep? You can save being asked this on other posts by simply adding the year and model of your jeep to your signature block in your profile. Then it will always appear at the bottom of each of your posts.

Have you actually looked into the hat channel on your tub to see if the captive nut is there?

Wes, it's a 1952 M38. No, I haven't looked to see yet. I'll be drilling a hole today but the if it's there I don't think there is much of a chance for it to line up exactly with the hole in the mount.

leave it for last after you have finished complete alignment of the tub including fenders, grill & hood as well as checking starter kick pedal alignment and brake/clutch pedal alignment. Then just drill the mount to match the tub and if needed use a large area washer.
