24V starter switch failure

Wow Rick, that looks like it got pretty hot. I guess its a good idea to get in there and clean up those contacts every once in a while.
Or maybe it wasn't properly adjusted in that it wasn't making full contact when engaged? That would cause them contacts to heat up to.

Hi Rick, They didn't disappear. I had noticed when reviewing members photo album content that you had duplicate sub-albums each with the same three rather large file size photos (one 330K, one 900K and one 1.0M. Our photo album limits on photo file size are under 500K. So I deleted the duplicate album and since you had used that album to link your photos in this post they vanished. I went back and changed your links in your post to the remaining album.
These are the album use rules Ryan published years ago. They can be found on the "Photo Album problems and needs" forum at the top of the forum.

Welcome to the photo gallery message thread.
If you are a member of willysmjeeps.com, then you can post a "New Topic" requesting a free personal photo gallery.
Photos posted on your gallery can be referenced to show up with your message posts similar to other online galleries.
The setup for a personal photo gallery is not automatic. An administrator will set one up for you upon reading your request. This process may take a day or two as we all have full time jobs and do most of the website work in the evenings.
If you have a problem using your photo gallery, please let us know by posting a "New Topic" on this message board.
Please do not post inappropriate material on your photo gallery and keep the file sizes to a maximum to 500KB and under. Also try to keep the number of files on your gallery to 20 or less.
This reduces our need for server space and thus keeps our costs down.
We appreciate your patience and hope that you enjoy the photo gallery option.

I have NOS outer bodies for that starter switch, the portion shown that has the lug broken off, with contacts inside if you need one.

Thx Wes, I did not realize I copied that album 2x. I know my album is quite large, i'll go thru it soon and delete items no longer relevant. Rick.

Here you go! Friends and I were jeeping in Ouray Co and had conquered Black Bear and Imogene passes the day it shorted out. Oilly had an idea and LeeMN just happened to have a rusty farmall switch in his possibles..

Both in the same day w/stock flattys and no damage. The looks on the faces of the guys with the modded up plastic jeeps was worth it..

The videos of both of those Colorado Rockies passes don't come close to how they look in the flesh. Any mistake that causes you to go off the edge may be your last. I took my 1943 GPW over them that day. I would not recommend any of you guys taking your WW2 Jeep. They are geared too tall and the altitude of 12-13,000 feet will show you poor fuel delivery to the pump from the tank. Too much vertical rise to the firewall filter, and too long a line. Thank god for the prime assist arm. It got me up the last 1000 feet on Imogene. I'm installing a arm assist on my mountain CJ2A now as a result. Oilly
