Yoke washer

I've committed the ultimate sin. I lost
an important part. I have no idea how
because the accompanying nut is still here.

So I've been to the usual places looking for
a suitable replacement washer for my front
transfer yoke nut.

The only thing with the correct 3/4" hole and
outer diameter that will fit in the yoke is no
better than grade 5. At best. I can't find
anything else like a grade 8.

The book says,
Washer, s, 3/4", sp

I'm assuming sp means special, and also
assuming tgat means it has a reduced total
diameter to fit in the yoke.

Will this work?

Tks,

Find someone who rebuilds transmissions, transfer cases and differentials. They are readily available parts and they might even have one in the junk drawer.

There's a shop in town. I already hit them up
for poppet balls.

Is a loose fit on the shaft acceptable or does it need to be pretty
close? I'm thinking it would slip around a little until the nut snugged
it up while torquing.

The thickness is almost dead on, just concerned about the grade.

It's raining here, thank goodness, so I may go back for one more good
search. It's frustrating because I bagged and tagged everything, and
not only that but my wife will tell you I never throw anything away.

Hey Brian. If like me, the sooner I go buy another one is the sooner I'll find the lost one --- usually right where I left it, in the last place I look for it. :D

Got that right!
