The versatile M38

Post by Kendall »

We recently had a large silver maple tree cut down from the front of our house. We needed the chunks moved to the back yard, so out came the M38. I removed the tailgate and rear seat and loaded it down for several trips and then the tow rope to drag the large stump. It made easy work out of it.

Hmmm; that is why I own Dodges so when I want to actually haul something, I have a real vehicle instead of a toy. The multiple trip thing makes me crazy.
And it is too easy to exceed the load limit for them.
And I own a few jeeps, including an M38, too; just not for any practical reason.

All these MV's have tons of service left in them no matter what their original design purpose or weight classifications they all seem to retain a great deal of flexibility in their applications. I have 3 jeeps and a Dodge M37 and found they all do well in multiple roles. I really do not consider any of them to be toys.

It did what he wanted with no problem whatsoever and he had fun doing it so I'd say "well done".

Man I hope you saved decent lengths of that tree.

Have you ever bought maple at the lumber or wood specialty store?

I have a Dodge too, but it can't compare to the Willys for maneuverability and nimbleness. There were places I had to go (space-wise) where the Dodge would not have fit.
