So .... I removed the carburetor from my M38, and found the manifold to be completely full of gas - right to the brim. Anyone have any thoughts on that one?

thanks,
Skip

Hi. Skip. Maybe a stuck needle valve , float with a hole in it so it will not float or the float on the pivot pin is hanging up and will not float and shut the fuel off in the bowl. Cheers Rob M38a1 CDN3C

At any rate, NOT good for the engine. Pul the dip stick and check level, and then smell for gasoline contamination.

Once you find the flooding problem, Id recommend changing the oil and filter (if equipped).

Ah - good call on the oil. I hadn't thought about that.
