M38A1 Vent Line Tech Question

Post by Madriver1968 »

Howdy all,

I'm in the final stages of completing the vent lines on my '54 M38A1 and I've got a technical question. I see from ORD 9 SNL G-758, that the vac line that runs from the fuel pump to the crankcase vent T is 5/16" steel, but the vac line that runs to the T that leads to the wipers and the distributor is 1/4" steel. Just curious as to why the difference in the tube diameters. Thanks in advance for the tech education!

I would imagine that the flow requirements of the two branches were less then the total requirement at the "T".
