Frame question

I am parting out an 1953 M38A1 frame since no one seems to want it. I am not where my Jeep is so I can’t compare it to this one. On one of the rear crossmembers is a plate with bolt holes in it. I would assume it was for some type of gun mount. Can someone tell me how to attach a photo? Is this on all of the Jeeps or is it worth taking the crossmember out for someone? Thanks, Mike McMahan

The M38 frame did not come from the factory with a gun mount.

The M38A1 did. That's what you are looking at.

Thanks Brian. If I had been home I could have just looked at mine.

Now the pair of you have me confused!

1-Mike you have only spoken about the M38A1 frame you wish to part out has a gun mount pad on the crossmember aft of the front seats. All M38A1's did.

2-Brian, out of the clear blue sky, you announce the M38 did not have one. I don't see where mike mentioned an M38 frame?????????

Wes, The frame I am parting out is a 1953 M38A1. I was not aware that they all had the gon mount. Just wanted to know if it was worth removing from the frame for someone. Sure hate to haul this frame to the scrap yard. If anyone will come to central Texas and get it it’s free.

If I was even close I would come get it. But 2500 miles or so is just to far to go. LOL

Waco's a nice day trip from Houston.

Heck, you can stop at Brent Mullins spot in
College Station!
