I picked up a rt68 with all the fixings yestarday. It came with the antenna mount that goes on the spare tire carrier. However it does not look 100% like the photos ov at ab-449 that i have found on the internet. The part where the antenna base mounts is bolted onto mine. It looks to be nos. I would like to identify it as it is surplus to my needs and i would like to sell it, but dont want to sell until i know what model it is. I will post photos later.

Bill, your mount is the Canadian version. The upper plate is removable because there were a couple of variations (a plate used with the C42 radio antenna tuning unit and a later plate with a large hole to accept the American style antenna tuning unit).

Brian, Was there a different official designation for the Canadian version?

Wes, I am away from home so can’t check part numbers. In Bill’s photo you can just see the yellow army part number. There is also a NATO stock number associated with the mount. These I can check in a week or so.
