I tried calling Midwest Military, [952 440 8778] 4 different times today and all that happened was, it would ring a few times and then started a screeching sound that hurt my ears. Then I tried Army Jeep Parts,[215 269 5014] also 4 different times and All I got was voicemail. I don't do business like that. If they want my business They had better answer the phone. There are plenty of vendors out there.

That noise usually is associated with a fax number instead of a phone number in my experiences.

just looked and you appear to have the correct number for MWM but just for giggles did you try the fax number? someone might have gotten something mixed up somewhere.

It's very possible. I'll check my phone and if I made a mistake, I'll certainly apologize to them for my mistake.

Before we flame two of the best suppliers in the country a couple of breaths and a little recon will show that one of the largest MVPA shows and fleamarkets is this weekend in Aberdeen. May 10-12.
That means they probably travelled on Wednesday to set up.
Granted, a fax machine kicking in after several unanswered rings is problematic, but in the past with both vendors if I left a message
John or Dan, or George eventually called me back.

And yes, there are plenty of suppliers out there,
but few of the caliber of these two.

You can also send an email with details. They get back to you on anything you order or any questions you have. I've done a lot of business with George at AJP that way, via email or over the phone.
My guess is they were traveling and someone goofed on the phone line answering service vs the fax. Sometimes fax lines get stuck in the receiving or sending mode... Modern technology. Blame it on the computer/micro-chip.
Shoot George or John an email and let them know what you're looking for and your time frame. They'll get back to you quickly.
KaiserWillys is a bigger operation, granted, but they don't always have the same quality parts as AJO or MWM. And are sometimes more expensive than either of those. John and George have been leaders and instrumental in creating high quality, as good or better than NOS, parts - in my experience....
Patience... These jeeps have been around a long time and a couple days longer won't break the restoration process.

I'm man enough to say, I made a mistake when calling MWM. I had the number written down correctly but I hit the wrong number by mistake. I now have that corrected. When I call in my order I'll apologize to him for being such a dumba++.

No need to apologize. Glad to have you call. Just to be sure, we have 2 lines open most of the time at 952-440-8778. You can always try the metal shop line if there is a problem too. That is 952-440-6885. Use this one only if you have to.

Yeah, I think John's matches the original pretty darn good. I have the original one but all the black background is gone and it'd hard to read.
