T90 input shaft bearing fit in case.

LancePHP proposed this question to me in a PM and I am placing it here where it will better serve the group's interest in Willys M Jeeps.
My answer was:I wanted to replace the transmission case because one of the ears are broken on the one I have and was sent this case from a surplus yard here (they're kind of hard to come by here in the Philippines). The case on the left is my old case and the case on the right the new one but the main input bearing goes right through the hole in the case in the "new" case whereas I'd probably have to freeze it or pound it back into my old case. I don't want it wobbling around once I get it back together. What do you think?

Too much slop. Knurling the hole surface will not take it up. That gear is suppose to be a slip fit. "Easy to slide or tap in but no rocking" It is retained by the plate and snap ring. Excess wobble there will shorten the life of the main shaft internal roller sets, that bearing and the flywheel bushing.
