I finally found the box with the original resistor type gauges for my 1950 M38.I need a sending unit with Douglas connector for the original 120 lb gauge.

Check your Ord 9 G740.

I believe only the temperature sender was different for the early
resistor equipped gauges.

I already h.ave the correct sending unit for the temp gauge but I currently have the later oil pressure gauge and sending unit for 60 lb.30 years ago I misplaced the box with the original resistor guages so I put the later types in.I had to move a while back and found the box of original guages. The last owner left the original gauges in but added on a plate under the dash with mechanical temp and oil gauges.I never had the 120 lb sending unit.

Both of you are correct.

The M38 used only one oil press sender weather it came from Willys with the external resistor gauges or later with the internal resistor gauges since all original factory M38's used a 120 PSI oil pressure gauge.

When the later M38A1 made the switch to the 60 PSI Gauge and sender then Army saw fit to make all the ealier M38's & M38A1's 60 psi as well.

So radtech now needs a 60 PSI oil sender PN:

WO# - 808567
AL# - EOF11993
WO# - 809820
ORD# - 7954231

My Bad! 60 PSI sender (ORD# - 7954231) with 60 PSI gauge on all upgraded M38's and 120 PSI sender (7728856) with 120 PSI gauge early or late stock M38s
