Rear axle numbers

I'm in the process of trying to answer the questions on the survey and have been going over the rear axle. The only numbers I have found so far is a tag with 43 over 8 which I understand means it has the 538 gear ratio and I have found some numbers on the right axle tube. Can anyone tell me what they mean and also where to look for the date code I haven't had any luck finding it as of yet.
