I am attempting to remove the camshaft gear from L-134, M38 engine. Been reading TM 9-1804A, but without the special puller I am having trouble getting other gear pullers to work. Any suggestions? Also, where are the timing marks on the gears that are mentioned in the Note on the bottom of page 47 in same manual? Thanks for your help, Kendall

Any attempt at prying against it's rim will result in a broken gear. Get the correct puller or buy a new gear.

Timing marks are very small dots. The crank gear dot is at the bottom of a space between two teeth and the camshaft gear dot is right on the front of one tooth.

OK. Just a regular puller. Not a Jaw puller. Good I have it already.

Thanks
