M38 top bows... anyone ever MAKE their own?

Post by Daveyboy »

Wondering if anyone ever attempted to make their own bows?

I mean it’s a rather simple design.

I’m thinking thin wall tubing, bent and cut, and the ends flattened.
Weld on a tab for the pivoting front bow.
A few drilled holes.
I’ve fabricated much more complex stuff.

In this case, it really doesn’t need to look perfectly stick.
This is never going to be on a true M38 show winner.

Not having a set of bows to look at and measure, What size tubing did you use?

Anyone have drawings of the bow dimensions?
I looked on Wes’s photo site and didn’t see the bows. Maybe I missed it.
