Starter conversion
Hi I have a autolite mcz4001ut starter that appears to be in good condition. I have not torn it down yet but will if I can use it. My question is because my May 52 m38 has been converted to 12 volt is it possible to convert it the starter to 12 volts to have a fresh non aftermarket starter?

Yes you can have a quality auto-electrical shop rewire the starter for 12V however it would probably be cheaper to just find a civvy 12 V starter MDM-6005 or MDU-7004. You would have to use a start solenoid with them.
