I am trying to find the correct order and number of anti vibration plates at the base of an early m38 horn mount. there seems to be approx. 4 or 5 plates separated by a couple of washers in the middle,I think.

I have seen a photo or diagram years ago, but I cannot find it again.

If it helps, I have 2 Autolite horns that I believe are assembled correctly with original vibration mounts. I cleaned them up and re-assembled them the same way I took them apart. I can't vouch they're correct because I couldn't find an assembly diagram in the manuals either, but both were found the same way. Both have 5 vibration plates, 3 inboard and 2 outboard of the spacers.

I can snap and post a few photos if you'd like to see. Let me know.

Here you go Charles. It took me awhile to get a good focused close-up to show it all. There are 4 spacers and 5 plates. On each stud goes a spacer, 3 plates, another spacer, then 2 plates, the data plate, lock washer, and nut.
Hope this helps. Let me know if there's anything else I can do.
