In the rear crossmember or rear bumper there's a doubler or reinforcing shorter version of crossmember within the longer one...
Can't see any weld lines or spot welds holding it in place yet can't seem to
take it out. Is that a pressure fit part or is there spot welds I'm not seeing?

There are about 5 or so spotwelds on each side. I used a cold chisel to cut thru them placing the chisel between the inner and outer bracing, then grinded down/straightened the area prior to welding in a new piece.

Put a chisel or screwdriver between the very most rear edge and the reinforcement member and you'll find them. I bent up the rear floor pan pretty good where it folds down to press against the reinforcement member. But it wasn't too bad and was easily straightened back once I welded the member back in.
