Wes or Ryan, I was wondering if you could help me. I have a 1953

My answer was:

807895 is the late F134 casting number cast into the block at the engine foundry. The letter and digits that follow ID the material in the casting. The 4J 446241 is a engine's serial number meaning it was the 436,240th F134 produced in that casting number. the 4J ID's it as originally installed at Willys or Kaiser in a civilian jeep product. Since you do not tell us the model of the jeep we cannot help with the bumper number.

The answer to the bumper numbers for your 53 A1 is in the one of the Army Vehicle marking regulations/manuals. Which ones depends on the period in the jeep's history the numbers came from. Usually the retirement date of date on the SF97 that released it as surplus.

Those pubs are: Various editions of AR850-5 from 1945 thru 1954. This reg was replaced with the following TB's: TB ORD 626 OCT 57, TB ORD 2300-10/1 APR 58, TB9-263 APR 59, TB ORD 677 JUL 62, TB ORD 1058 JUN 63 and TB 746-93-1 OCT 64. The 1964 pub is usually your best reference. Navy and USAF used separate regs/Manuals.
