I just helped a buddy install a CJ3B crankshaft, just because he was told that the CJ3B crankshaft would make his jeep run smoother and faster. He went all out and rectified a old 3B shaft and installed all-new matching bearings.
He has a M38 with the F-engine, soooooooo...
Opinions, anyone?

If he had an F engine then he already had a CJ3B style crank in it. The F134 enterred production around 1950 and was used on just about all the jeep lineup up thru 1971. There was only one variation in cranks used. The early was machined for the rope type rear seal and the later was machined for the formed lip type convention rear seal.

With a F-head motor in a M38 does it really matter?
