Cross Member Radiator Tabs

A long stalled restoration is starting to get momentum. When I left off on the project, I had replaced the front cross member, which had been replaced buy the previous owner with a piece of angle iron. My replacement cross member though, which I didn't realize at the time, is missing the radiator tabs.
Is any one aware of source for replacement radiator tabs? I have found a replacement for the entire cross member with the tabs included but I would prefer not to cut out the cross member again.
I am not opposed to fabricating the two tabs from flat stock but I would like to save the time of doing so. As I understand, from a previous post, the two tabs are of different lengths.
Thank you for any suggestions.
John

Hi John,
I don't recall ever seeing those mounting tabs for sale.
Suggest calling John at MidWestMilitary.
If anybody makes them, has stock, or knows who does, it would be him.
I'd be glad to measure mine if you need dimensions (including photo to show orientation).
If it helps the search, they're listed in the September 1955 ORD9 on page 273 (the cross member assembly is listed on page 274) as:
Bracket, Radiator Support (Left) ORD 8677338, WO-801285
Bracket, Radiator Support (Right) ORD 8677339, WO-801286
The listing seems to indicate that the Army kept supply stock on hand, meaning maybe some survived to the market today as NOS.
Good luck!

Hi John. Since this is a single technical inquiry I have moved it to the technical Board. You are welcome to start a Project thread over on the project board where general progression notes and discussions can be carried on. The technical board is the correct place and quickest place to answers to direct technical questions and it is the place where many members come to to learn more about the technical side of their jeeps.

Ron,
Thank you for your suggestion, I will follow up with John.
You reference ORD9. If there a manual available for the M38 with this type of technical information?
My best, John R.

Yes, the ORD9 Army manual that lists all the service parts for the M38 is free to download from this forum using the "downloads" button above.
All the other M38 Army manuals are also there, as well as other useful documents.
If you prefer paper copies, Portrayal Press is top quality and sells a M38 bundle of all the Army manuals for a reasonable price here:
https://www.portrayalpress.com/M38-Jeep ... dl-m38.htm
And here's a link to another useful manual:

Good luck!

John, there are plenty of dead frames out there. Put a note in the want to buy in hopes that someone would cut the tabs off a junk frame. I had a similar situation with my 3A and had tabs within a week. I'll wager the tabs for the 3A bot mt rad are same as M38 as well.
