Local source for compatible primer.

Post by Ryan »

Im out of primer on my jeep and need about 1 quart of primer to complete my project. Will any old red oxide primer work with the Gillespie paint? I sure hate to get a whole gallon and pay the shipping on it if I could get some locally?

A very reputable jeep restoration guy told me he prefers NAPA Red Oxide Primer Surfacer.

I have also heard that Rustoleum primer is compatible but I am not sure. I would maybe call a local auto body supply place.

I painted a M38 and M37 with Rustoleum rusty metal primer and I've had no trouble....
