Ok, finally found the starter section.

7760417 - PEDAL, starter switch, assy. I think this may be it. The search only finds it one time, and no picture.

And this is the item that pushes the switch contacts together.
7375102 - PLUNGER, switch, w/BLADE, assy (used w/STARTER G740-7762616) this is part of the switch assy on the early starter.

Anyway, my reason for my asking. I may be needing another one. The shaft in mine was bent. And it didn't mount flush on the floor pan. I adjusted the starter lever and switch contacts, but sometimes when I press on the pedal the starter doesn't always engage, however it does spin. I rotate the pedal some and repress the pedal and starter engages with flywheel.

I have been working on it. I took it apart and straightened the shaft and added some metal to the shaft to make it a tad longer.
I don't know if those padels are the same for all the jeeps, or if I have the right one. I'm going to weld it back together and see how it works.

Ken,

Wesk posted one time that the starter pedal was mounted from under the floor to give added length. You might try that...

Hope this helps...

Thanks Erik, I have already driven it down the country road for about a mile to the main hiway then turned around. I did this a few times to break the engine in. Finally got the carburetor mixture screw where I could adjust the air/fuel mixture. I had some trouble with the starter not engaging everytime.
I'm working on the windsheild frame at the moment. And waiting on canvas to arrive. Yesterday I received the paint stencils.
