Fuel tank fit.

How do you determine if a fuel tank you are looking at is the correct fit version or the older on that did not fit correctly? If the tank is the old one can you make it work?

The early repop MD Juan tank when set in psoition the rear tab for the tie down was not aligned and the filler neck was not centered in the opening.
