Turn signals

Post by Cacti_Ken »

If I decided to put turn signals on the M38, I would have to replace the right tail light assembly to match the one on the left side, correct?

If that be the case, then wire #23 on the right side would be disconnected correct?

I'm just trying to figure all this out before I really get started on it.

I have a turn signal controller I belive will work. But I need a flasher unit and the cable.

Has anyone here modified the original wiring diagram to show the turn signal circuit?

This can help :

http://www.g503.com/forums/viewtopic.ph ... urnsignals

I use the M151 turnsignalswitch with controllight.
It is easy to install on the steering column.
I use a 'civil' flasherunit 24 volt and made a separate wiring ( wich is easy to remove )for the signals. I take 24 volt at the permanent 24 volt so the signals can work without ignition on. The signalswitch has 4 positions, one to flash on the 4 signals each side.

On the front i installed two signals from an VW GOLF, see on the pic.gallery ( good to see for the opposite drivers )and at the back i changed the blackout lens with a yellow one and put a 21 watt lamp behind it. first i used civil lights, but afterwards i replaced them with the originals. It looks better, and the turnsignals are good to see. During summer we also use our arm to indicate any change of direction.

btw your jeep looks nice and is almost done !

Thank you Wes & Erik. The controller I have has a green lite under the handle the part no. is M62069/1-2. The handle can move two slots up from center and one down from center. The part no. in the instructions for the controller is M62069/2-1. Maybe that is a typo error.

Yes I believe so. Your flasher is most likely PN M62069/2-1.
