Before I start calling around to all the parts guys, call anyone direct me towards anyone who may have the correct cable. I need the large cable with the heavy rubber insulation.
This cable is for a 1952 M38 with 24 v system.

Look in the MVPA Supply line at the back for associate members.
You have to call before noon as that is when he answers the phone.

Try Kevin Emdee at Star Electric. 502-877-0813. I got one from him in Mobile. It is not an M38 cable, and requires a change to the connector orentation on one end, but with a little work, it will work and looks close to an orignal.

That's a tough one if you're trying to be factory original. The M38 used three different cable assemblies. WO = Willys TI= Titeflex Inc, ORD = Ordnance
Unit MC10001 thru MC 20599 WO 801191, TI B37559, ORD 7762732
MC20600 thru MC65927 WO 804330
MC65928 thru last M38 WO 806777
M38A1 all WO 806409, TI C57993, GE 331B152, ORD 8329736
Here's a couple of examples:
Often times the longer units are M38A1 or bigger trucks.

Thanks Wes,
My M38 has no original serial numbers and the engine and components are not original to it. I have determined it to be a 1952 model.
Is there any way I could roughly determine a serial number by the frame, firewall, etc. configurations?
I am not doing a factory class restoration, as those things would drive me crazy.

You'd only be able to interpolate it down to within several thousand unit serial numbers.
